The German legislation came into force on 6 December 2025.<\/p><p data-start=\"3963\" data-end=\"4155\">The BSI Act distinguishes between <strong data-start=\"3997\" data-end=\"4019\">important entities<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"4024\" data-end=\"4059\">particularly important entities<\/strong>. Depending on their classification, affected organisations must address requirements including:<\/p><ul data-start=\"4157\" data-end=\"4428\"><li data-section-id=\"1yg4k8q\" data-start=\"4157\" data-end=\"4189\">cybersecurity risk management;<\/li><li data-section-id=\"hk53wi\" data-start=\"4190\" data-end=\"4224\">incident detection and response;<\/li><li data-section-id=\"v5fad9\" data-start=\"4225\" data-end=\"4260\">business continuity and recovery;<\/li><li data-section-id=\"1bvg11y\" data-start=\"4261\" data-end=\"4285\">supply-chain security;<\/li><li data-section-id=\"d3wpc1\" data-start=\"4286\" data-end=\"4314\">registration with the BSI;<\/li><li data-section-id=\"itrbhm\" data-start=\"4315\" data-end=\"4361\">reporting of significant security incidents;<\/li><li data-section-id=\"1uk6m84\" data-start=\"4362\" data-end=\"4398\">management oversight and training;<\/li><li data-section-id=\"ed4yzw\" data-start=\"4399\" data-end=\"4428\">documentation and evidence.<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"4430\" data-end=\"4551\">The principal requirements are set out in Sections 28 to 39 of the amended BSI Act.<\/p><p data-start=\"4430\" data-end=\"4551\">Do you need to determine whether your organisation is affected or assess your current level of readiness?
