What are emergency and crisis management?<\/h2>

Emergency and crisis management prepare organisations to manage exceptional events in a structured manner. This includes clear responsibilities, defined reporting and escalation channels, practical emergency plans, and a crisis management team that remains capable of acting and making decisions under time pressure.<\/p>

Emergency management primarily focuses on events for which specific procedures and measures can be prepared. Examples include power or IT outages, damage to buildings and the loss of important resources. Emergency teams use defined processes and emergency plans to limit damage and stabilise operations.<\/p>

Crisis management takes over when a situation can no longer be managed through prepared standard procedures alone.
