Regulatory requirements, BCM and crisis management in an integrated concept – security from a single source
At the European Police Congress 2024 in Berlin, specialists and managers from security authorities, politics and economics met to exchange expertise on current challenges facing critical infrastructures (KRITIS) and the companies that supply them. In a talk, Stefan Erdweg, lecturer in security management and CEO of 3-core GmbH, explained how companies can successfully meet the increasing legal requirements and operational risks across all sectors.
Implementation of the KRITIS umbrella act, NIS2, BCM and crisis management in practice
The talk focussed on the implementation of the requirements of the KRITIS umbrella act, the NIS2 directive and the basics of business continuity management (BCM) and crisis management. Based on many years of experience from various projects, it was shown how legal requirements, threat analyses and operational realities can be implemented in practice-oriented protective measures. It became clear that resilience is far more than physical barriers in the form of fences or video cameras – it begins with a structured risk and process assessment, integrates forward-looking crisis prevention and utilises targeted security technology to reduce vulnerabilities effectively and cost-effectively.
