Three women in business attire meet in a modern office. One woman stands and speaks, while the other two sit at a desk with notebooks, listening attentively. A computer, plant, and large window are in the background.

Development of a security concept for an international civil engineering site

Background

Our client was responsible for installing submarine cables between two countries. As the construction site was particularly critical, the company wanted to conduct a risk analysis for the civil engineering work in deep water to identify potential threats and hazards. A security concept was developed to respond to the risks.

Solution

In the first step, the security experts at 3-core gained an overview of the current status of the project and the construction site to analyse the risks using our risk analysis tool. A wide range of potential threats were identified, such as espionage, organized crime and individual perpetrators. The specific geographical and operational conditions were also considered.

This led to the development of a customised security concept. It includes security measures for the site and access controls, as well as technical surveillance and alarm systems with cooperation measures at branch offices. The concept has been designed to fully take into account the high security requirements associated with this strategic infrastructure project.
